Fall Buttercream Cookies by Heather Callister

I just finished teaching a buttercream cookie decorating class this week. There were 38 in the class. The most I have ever taught in a class is 15. There’s a first for everything! We did 2 Fall cookies and 2 Christmas cookies. For this blog, I will show you how to do 2 Fall cookies.

We did a pumpkin and acorn buttercream sugar cookie. I included tutorial videos. For the frosting, you can pick the recipe of your choice. This buttercream recipe holds piping well: https://sugarspiceadvice.com/2020/04/06/vanilla-buttercream-frosting/ (Don’t use store bought frosting. It will not hold the design as well as homemade frosting.)

You can pick any sugar cookie recipe you like. The recipe I like to use the most is by Neurotic Mom Bakes: https://youtu.be/p20hk4sDiFo?is=YWSTrux3rdLg_k-g

Here is the tutorial for the Pumpkin Cookie. I used Wilton tips 21, 18, and 4. You can purchase the 55-piece set here: https://link.amazon/B08pUGTlA It is great to have on hand.

Another Fall favorite is the Acorn. Thanksgiving will be here before we know it.

For the Acorn Cookie, I used Wilton tips 18 & 5.

Here is a tutorial video.

What are some of your Fall favorite cookies?

Thanks for reading and feel free to share this with anyone who might enjoy this.

Best Wishes!
